Example — 12:00 in New York on October 13, 2026 — in London?5:00 PM in London, the same day
How we got it — the example, step by step
- On that date New York is 4 hours behind UTC (daylight time) and London is 1 hour ahead (British Summer Time) — a difference of 5 hours.
- 12:00 + 5 hours = 17:00, shown as 5:00 PM. Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of New York that day, so the same moment is 1:00 AM on October 14 there.
Check it backwards
Convert the answer straight back with the zones swapped and you land on 12:00 in New York — both directions use the same offsets.

Why do the differences change during the year?
Daylight saving. Each zone moves its clocks on its own dates, so for a few weeks each spring and autumn the gap between two cities is an hour different from usual. The converter applies each zone's real rule for the date you pick — try March 15 vs April 15 and watch New York–London change.
